Crunch Time
August 24th, 2008With Project approaching there seems to be something weird in the air, seemingly running hand in hand with my friends I’ve come across.
Jason (Cyana Lab) the new selling force behind Stampd’ LA, at the Revolve Clothing store opening, and yes, that is a mini truckin’ shirt with a teal unicorn cigar..
No adjustments needed for this one. Lulu, designing for those Affection types..
Tom just shot the new lookbook for JoyRich, Cottrell lost his lid a little during the shoot. Stress.
Eric (Matisyahu for a day) and Christine, dialing in the details for UNIF.
This has no relevance.

August 18th, 2008Saturday was more eventful than most. Drew stopped by to rap about haircuts and sunglasses. He peeped my new Goliath, Ultras and was envious..
Had to give it to him for his Goliaths.
Got into talking about the new line of shades I’m doing. Here’s a sneak peek of COMB, which will be debuting in Spring 09.
Stopped by the Insight offices to sift through their weekend long sample sale and chat it up with Jake. Here, their freshly stacked line up.
Jake, Miles.
Insight, show room.
Ksubi’s offices are attached to Insight’s, both of which sitting under the same corporate umbrella. Here, a pile of the Jeremy Scott love Ksubi denim, waiting for sale.
Linked with Chris and Noa for the Neckface art show.
Then to Box Eight.
Afrobots, where my koalas at.
Jerry on the grind.
The good and the bad behind LOVA.
Eric, and another UNIF groupie, right before she stole his phone.
And we out.

August 15th, 2008ENC’s Antenna
August 13th, 2008In the latest issue of Antenna magazine they paid homage to my home town of Encinitas. They get talking about how the emerging street wear / fashion scene in E-Town is sticking together, creating their own niche in an ever saturated market spanning globally.
It was just a few years ago when I first went into UNIV (Encinitas based concept shop), met Tim and Mirko, and worked with them on a pair of custom kicks for their shop. It’s inspiring to see them not only making it work, but blowing up, becoming noticed throughout the industry. They are now closely working with brands like One People Project, Alphanumeric, Vapor Design Studio to name a few, and on their way to taking over San Diego by storm.. Check Robust Flavor, and UNIV to see what’s good.
