Summer Fall Holiday 09
Stampd’ LA has been building a loyal global following with their clever footwear since last year‘s debut. With their latest Summer/Fall/Holiday 2009 collection Stampd’ takes a more polished approach with special attention being paid to texture, fabric, and detail. Owner/Designer Chris Stamp notes, “The new collection is driven by early 90’s American Pop Culutre aesthetics while still referencing contemporary fabrics and stream-lined construction methods.” Yes, the vintage L.A. Gear influence is still there but alongside smart fabric paradoxes like suede, waxed canvas, and patent leather combinations. Stamp knows his customer’s street wear demands are ever evolving and his 2009 offerings like the Boeing, White Slow, and typographical Letterd’ styles (to name a few) are a chance to experiment with the nuance of texture and precision. Details like the oft-colored shoelace eyelet and the bold embroidery are a notable design departure for casual sneakers turned dapper footwear. For Stampd’ traditionalists (quite the oxymoron) the vibrant flourescent appearance of stomps like Bayside Hi, Salt N’ Peppa, and Skater Pie are the new extroverted smart.
